Payment Methods

Cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Gift Card, and WisCard are accepted for all purchases.

Personal checks for merchandise are accepted with a valid driver's license or UW Student ID.

Parent's checks can be used for the purchase of books and supplies during the first three weeks of each semester, provided you have the same last name and/or address. You must present your own photo ID with a parents' check. All checks are subject to purchase limit.

Return & Exchange Policy

If you are not completely satisfied with any product, we will gladly replace it or refund the purchase price of the item. We accept returns on orders within 30 days of delivery.
Please do the following:

Items must be in new condition with original packaging and accessories.
Note on the Packing Slip the Reason for Return and whether you want an Exchange or Credit.
If an exchange, please make note as to what Size and/or Color you want.

Credit card purchases will be credited to the charge card used for the initial purchase. If the purchase was made with a personal check, we will issue a check.

Shipping & Handling

Methods for shipping are:

Ground Shipping (5-7 days)	$7.00 + $0.50 for each item
2nd Day Air	$21.00 + $1.00 for each item
Next Day Air	$45.00 + $2.00 for each item

Order processing time is 3-4 business days (for ground shipping) or 1-2 business days (for expedited and pick up at store orders).

Methods for shipping Gift Cards ONLY are:

Gift Card (Ground)	$3.00
Gift Card (2nd Day Air)	$20.00
Gift Card (Next Day Air)	$30.00

From the Delivery Methods section select your shipping method and then click "Continue".

Handling charges are applied to products that have special shipping requirements. Items that require handling charges are noted as such in the description field of that item.

Out of country orders are usually sent USPS International Priority Mail and will arrive in 6-10 business days. These orders are not shipped or charged until we can weigh the order and check with USPS for options / prices. We will then e-mail that information to the customer for approval.

Items are shipped Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 AM and 3 PM.

We offer the option to "Pick Up At Store" which is located at our Library Mall location (711 State Street).

If you do not see a tracking number in the shipping confirmation e-mail then your order was shipped via USPS. At this time we are only able to provide UPS tracking numbers through our automated e-mail system.

Our flagship location serves the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus as well as the downtown Madison community. Our main floor combines several stores in one. You will find an extensive collection of school and office supplies, fine art and graphics supplies, a wide selection of fine pens, and our general books department, which includes best sellers, children's books, travel guides, and reading materials for a wide variety of interests. The lower level is devoted to textbooks and course materials, supplying the majority of educational materials to the students at the UW-Madison. In the lobby, you will find Cafe Atrio, a coffee and pastry bar offering fresh-baked goods and made-to-order gourmet coffee drinks.

The Digital Outpost is the University Book Store's computer and consumer electronics store, serving the University of Wisconsin with computer peripherals, digital photo printing (while you wait), academic priced software, recordable media, card media, ethernet connections, inkjet cartridges, ink jet refills, laser toner and printer paper. Also offered is a full line of audio, video and phone related products and accessories as well as a great selection of hand held organizers, accessories and all types of calculators. Located inside the Digital Outpost is the Campus Shipping Center. Your packages can be brought in for us to ship or we can pack and ship your item. We offer a large selection of shipping boxes, packaging peanuts, bubble wrap and shipping tape. UPS, FedEx Express, FedEx Ground and USPS services are all available. We also offer storage service.

The Hilldale store location includes two levels and entrances, including an easily accessible rear entrance, this store is triple the size of the former location. The University Book Store at Hilldale boasts an expanded collegiate clothing and gifts section, art supplies, books, fine pens, consumer electronics and computer accessories on the main level. The lower level includes an author and book club space, children's games and toys, additional general books, a wide selection of bargain books and sale merchandise.

Our Health Sciences Learning Center store is located adjacent to the UW Hospital and Clinics. It is your source for medical and technical reference books, professional clothing and supplies, selected textbooks, and other items for the professional or student health care provider. We also carry a selection of UW collegiate clothing and gifts, general reading books, and fine pens.
